Another massive earthquake in Indonesia

Indonesia was a peaceful country just few years back,  but all that has changed in the last few years.  The Tsunami that stuck the island few years back is still remembered for the deadly human life losses numbering over 200000 across the globe.  Since then Indonesia has been troubled by earthquakes of varying intensities on a monthly basis.
Yesterday, the country was troubled by a 7.6 Richter scale earthquake just 30 miles off Sumatra coast, that killed over 15 people and injuring over 200. As per reports at least three big buildings including a hospital was brought down instantly by the deadly earthquake. The country has issued a Tsunami warning immediately after the earthquake. Complete death toll will be known only after few days.

Get that Cash Advance

We all get into crisis from time to time. We need some money urgently which will rescue us from that crisis. The nature of the crisis may be minor or major. That depends upon the situation that we are in.

For example, the other day, my son reminded me of my promise to him. I had promised long back that if he got good grades in all his exams, I will take him to his favourite show with all his key friends and our family. He had worked hard on his studies and pulled it off. He had actually scored distinction in all his exams. Now, it is a pleasant situation to be in except that I didn’t have any money on me and it was the month end. And, owing to the economic crisis, my credit score has gone downhill and it was very bad. I could not also borrow.

That is when I realised how handy zip cash could be. It is a facility offered by Zip19Cash. Basically, you get a cash advance and you also get attractive pay back options to choose from. They don’t ask you for your credit scores or collaterals. You simply fill up a form online and get your money fast.

US FED might shock everybody with quick withdrawal

The US FED surprised and shocked everybody last year when it drastically cut down the interest rates from 4.5% to near zero levels in a matter of six to seven months. Now it is expecting to do exactly the reverse i.e, start jacking up the interest rates in quick succession so that the excess money in the system is mopped up before they can cause any major damage to the long term recovery of the US economy.

Denmark slides by 7.2% in Q2 2009

The Year 2009 might be remembered by the citizens of Denmark for all wrong reasons. After getting into recession in the first quarter, the Denmark economy has gone into a tailspin in the second quarter.
The official data released yesterday indicates a sharp 7.2% drop in GDP of Denmark in the second quarter of 2009. With the exports not showing any signs of recovery, and with the foreign visitors going down drastically, there is hardly any scope for a smart recovery in Denmark economy in the near future.

When will the recession be over?

Can somebody stand up on the bench and tell us when will this recession be over?

US markets have fallen after one of the first economic snapshots of September posted a surprise decline in output. The poor data came from the Institute for Supply Management’s (ISM’s) business barometer for Chicago, which unexpectedly shrank this month.

The report overshadowed the earlier announcement that the US economy contracted less than previously estimated between April and June. Wall Street’s main Dow Jones index was down 88 points or 0.9% to 9,655. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq was 23 points or 1.1% lower to 2,101, and the S&P’s 500 had lost 12.5 points or 1.2% to 1,048.

India to face high inflation

India has over one billion people to serve everyday, and it depends on annual monsoon rains for over 60% of the agricultural produce. The country has so far faced over 20% shortfall in rainfall this year and the government has officially indicated that there could be severe shortfall in the production of rice and few other grains.
The imminent shortfall has already resulted in many of the food items shooting up by over anything between 10% to 50% . Some of the pulses have shot up by 40% plus in the last four months. The increase in industrial commodities over the last two months is only expected to add pressure on the overall inflation.

Nike Restores Profits

Nike has restored its profits though its topline has fallen. The Sportswear giant Nike has managed to report a slight rise in quarterly profits after cost-cutting work helped to offset a fall in revenues. The US group made a net profit of $513m (£322m) in the three months to 31 August, its fiscal first quarter. This compares with $511m a year earlier. Nike’s revenues declined 12% to $4.8bn from $5.4bn last year.

The firm said sales were continuing to fall, with global orders from retailers until the end of January 2010 down 6%. Future orders are down most in Eastern Europe, which they have fallen 28% from a year earlier. They have declined by 4% in the US and Canada, and by 8% in Western Europe.
