The South Korean Space department has launched a satellite into Orbit, with partial success today. With this launch, it becomes the tenth country in the world to do it’s own rocket launch. The rocket was partly built with Russian assistance while the second level propulsion stage was designed by South Korean scientists.
The project has cost nearly half a billion dollars and is said to be enabling South Korea to match the North Korean missile capabilities.
