When things happen, they happen with such rapidity that you don’t have any time to react. So, unless you have planned for such an event and are prepared for it, it is very difficult to react. How do you react when there is no reaction time at all?

That is the kind of situation we also found ourselves in one day last month. We had slept that night. And, since we had partied all day and we had been busy preparing for the party two days in advance, both myself and my wife fell into an absolutely blissful sleep.

So, it came as a rude shock when the alarm went off. At first, I did not even know what that was all about. Then I realised that it is the sound from my adt home security system.

Only the month before, we had installed this home security system from ADT. It also included a fire alarm. That is the alarm sounding us out at that point in time. We could get up just in time to see a blazing fire going on in our kitchen. The alarm system is set up in such as way to signal the authorities in case any such thing happened. This also brought the fire services in a very short notice. We could put the fire out in no time. We could avert a very major disaster.
