The Israeli military says it has taken control of a boat carrying Jewish activists to the Gaza Strip and was towing it into an Israeli port.

Israel had promised to stop the Irene, which was trying to breach a three-year naval blockade of Gaza.

Earlier this year, Israeli commandos killed nine people in clashes on board a Turkish ship trying to reach Gaza.

Israel says its blockade is designed to prevent weapons being smuggled to Hamas militants who run the territory.

ONGC-Videsh(OVL) has started bidding for Russia’s two oil fields which include strtegic Trebs and Titov oil fields. The race was pulled out by another bidding partner Rosneft who had ideas of buying the two russian oil fields. On Monday OVL had submitted the application through Nord Imperial just before the bidding closed.

Nord Imperial is a part of Imperial Energy which was an OVL subsidiary in Russia according to the reports. OVL is at present the only Indian company bidder competiting with other foreign companies.OVL has been described as a jewel among the Russian oil reserves even though it is facing a tough competition

The tough competition for the bid is seen from other Russian rivals like KOIL,TNK-BP,British petrolueum,Gazprom,SUrgutneftegaz and Bashneft. OVL at present is looking for another partner from Russian side for the project said Russian natural resource minister Yuri Trutnev. Majority of the private ownership cannot be owned as the oil field requires partnership says the rules.

The strategic asset will need to seek permission from the Russian government for OVL and gain the approval.
The deposits are distinguished as strategic and depends upon the government commission to allow OVL participate alone.
OVL came into agreement in month of December with Russian AFK Sistema group and in future explore the opportunities.

President Barack Obama has confirmed Elizabeth Warren as a special adviser to set up a US consumer agency.

The creation of a Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) was part of the Financial Reform Bill signed by Mr Obama in July.

By becoming an adviser rather than head of the agency, Mrs Warren avoids Senate hearings which may have stopped her nomination.

She has angered some lawmakers because of her strong criticism of banks.

A Harvard law professor, she made her acceptance statement on the White House Blog, saying “the time for hiding tricks and traps in the fine print is over. If the CFPB can succeed at levelling the playing field, we can go a long way toward repairing a gaping hole in the budgets of millions of families”.
