The Intel brand is the undisputed leader in the computer chips market, and it wants to now dominate the mobile chip market also in the same way. It does not have the kind of time required to start on Research and Development, and hence it has decided to go on the inorganic route.
It has finalized a plan to buy out the mobile chip technology company Infineon for a whopping 1.4 billion dollars cost last week. The deal can help Intel pump in more money liberally into the wireless chip technology arena and achieve the dominance in quick time.
