If you have infants, then the peak seasons of winters and summers would affect them predominantly. In summers, infants gets dehydrated. They might feel very thirsty but do not know how to express that to their mothers. Mothers have to monitor their child very closely. It is advisable to change the food to more of liquids in summers. Include juices, shakes, soups, rice water etc in between the meals. The quantity of the meals can be reduced a little for the child to accommodate other liquid food.
The children should be fed with sufficient water during summer to avoid dehydration. Water should be boiled and cooled and stored hygienically for the children and they should be given water once every hour. Children are very active and they play under the sun in the day and exhaust their energy and get dehydrated. Ample care should be taken on their water intake. Bring the habit of carrying a water bottle and drinking water frequently. Use only light cotton clothes for the children and give them bath twice a day, one before bedtime.
