In the last decade teen pregnancy has increased in United States. For the first time, in 2009, teen pregnancy increased much from 2006. The reports from Reuters indicated that the teen pregnancy saw a 3% rise in teen pregnancy in 2006.

But the rate of birth has increased by 4% last year compared to 2006. The rate of abortions has risen to 1% in teen pregnancies. The Guttmaacher institute reported these teen pregnancies.

In the age group of 15 to 19 pregnancies are 71 among 1000 girls. Among teen age girls in 2006 , 7% got pregnant. The numbers of pregnant black teens were very less in 2006. The rates of pregnancy for all other ethnic group is very high.
